Facility: Idylwood Care Center-Sunnyvale

Job Title: Program Director

Status: Full Time

Shift: AM

Minimum Qualifications:
1. Education and Experience:

a. Must meet regulatory educational standards.

b. Demonstrated knowledge of DSM-5, psycho social rehabilitation and recovery principles.

c. Familiarity with applicable regulatory requirements.

2. Other Qualifications:

a. Proven ability to work with others at all levels within the organization and

collaborate effectively.

b. Above-average interpersonal, problem-solving, and written and oral communication skills.

c. Experience in working with health care and mental health regulatory agencies.

d. Meet minimum competencies or design a plan to meet competencies within one year of employment.

e. A valid California driverís license.


Duties:
1. Clinical Responsibilities:

a. Ensures all clients receive the full spectrum of mental health services during length of stay and treatment based on objectives as identified in their treatment plan.

b. Maintains confidentiality of all information for clients.

c. Coordinates daily schedules.

d. Continually explore best practices and evidence based recovery practices.

2. Administrative Responsibilities:

a. Supervises the activities of employees who report to the program director as outlined above.

b. Ensures performance evaluations are completed following established guidelines and timeframes.

c. Properly orienting, supervising, instructing, evaluating, terminating, and hiring responsibilities as appropriate to the case management and recreational/activity department.

d. Ensures program policy and procedure manuals for the educational department are reviewed and updated according to established facility and regulatory agency protocols.

e. Maintains a working knowledge of standards and regulations governing mental health services.

f. Assist with coordination of regular staff meetings for employees to both provide information and facilitate communication.

g. Manages the department within allocated/budgeted parameters.

h. Works with clients in training capacity, if applicable.

i. All other duties as assigned.

3. Program Development

a. Coordinates the development of new programs and services.

b. Functions as liaison to referral sources and the community as indicated to facilitate communication regarding client care and programs that may be utilized by these sources. Markets the services of the facility to potential referral sources.

c. Assists in the maintenance of census.

d. Supervises the provision of social services/case management within the

facility.

e. Facilitates the interdisciplinary team meetings.

4. Staff Education:

a. Provides for regular in-service training opportunities based on needs identified through competency assessments and new trends and developments in the field of mental health.

b. Ensures that all program staff participates in required education and training.
