Job Title: Recovery Coach

Status: On Call

Shift: Flex

Under the supervision of the Director of Nursing and the Program Director, the Recovery Coach is responsible for assisting in the provision of the therapeutic milieu by monitoring and communicating with clients, providing rehabilitation groups under supervision, and assisting in crisis intervention. Other duties may be assigned as needed by the Director of Nursing, the Program Director, or a Designee.

This is an Entry Level Mental Health Position and it is a good opportunity for someone wanting to enter the field.

Requires:

Minimum of a high school diploma/GED.
A valid California driver�s license preferred.
Minimum of two years clinical experience as applicable in a psychiatric setting.
In the absence of two years experience, training may be substituted. This training will be based on, but not limited to, the in-service plan for 52 hours.


Duties:
Nursing and Program Functions:
Monitors clients when clients are not in group.
Communicates with clients to check on physical, emotional, and spiritual needs.
Maintains special observations of high-risk clients.
Reports critical information to nurse and program staff in regard to clients.
May co-facilitate rehabilitation groups under supervision of program staff.
Participates as team member in crisis intervention.
May assist in orientation and training of all new Rehabilitation Assistants.
Participates in staff meetings on nursing/program development.
Assists in establishment and maintenance of therapeutic milieu by observing and reporting unusual client behaviors to the charge nurse.
Assists in the management of assaultive, disruptive, or suicidal clients.
Completes documentation as specified in policies.
Assists clients with ADLs as needed.
Has current techniques of behavioral intervention training within six (6) months.
Is required to take vital signs.
Accompanies clients to appointments and community-based programs.
Completes facility census count per policy and procedure.
Works with clients in training capacity, if applicable.
All other duties as assigned.
Professional Responsibilities:
Ability to work as a team member.
Serves as a role model and leader to fellow team members.
Must meet in-service requirements.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Must be in good physical condition to meet demands of an active position, necessitating extensiveness of walking and standing.
Must be able to stoop, crouch, reach, and stand, moving about in work area and throughout the facility to accomplish tasks.
Must be able to get out of vehicles and tolerate one to two hours of driving for transportation of clients.
Must be able to assist with the physical interventions of clients.
